Monckton Teams up with Climate Denier Philip Foster for Paris COP21 Disruption

Viscount Monckton’s flying climate circus will touch down in Paris in December, boasting his B-team of clowns and science magicians, much to the merriment and hilarity of the press and public.

The Paris Climate Challenge will take place on Rue de la Rochefoucauld, and includes a ragtag of deniers long discredited and broadly ignored.

Roger Helmer, the UKIP MEP humiliated by the Sun when it reported his frequent visits to a ‘sleazy massage parlour’, Piers Corbyn, an eccentric former Marxist and brother to the current Labour party leader, whose book has been widely attacked by credible scientists.

Monckton Claims

Lord Monckton of Brenchley himself has claimed to be a scientific advisor to Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s and claims having warned her about the dangers of climate change.

But, as exclusively revealed by DeSmog UK, government records and the recollections of everyone who worked on environment issues at the Policy Unit refute his remarkable claims.

Monckton continues to claim that he is a member of the House of Lords, despite repeated protestations from the House of Lords that he is not and never has been. He admits that he cannot sit and vote in the chamber. This seems enough to confuse his sponsors at the Heartland Institute, if no one else.

Buckingham Palace has also unsuccessfully ordered the potty peer to stop using the queen’s coat of arms.

Lord Monckton seems not to have noticed the unusual warmth and that 2015 is highly likely to be the hottest year in record, repeating the darkly hilarious claim that there has been a “pause” in global warming.

As the faithful gather around their capering shamans in Paris for the New Superstition’s annual festival of worship, the Pause lengthens yet again,” he claims.

Foster and Heartland

Lord Monckton will appear at events organised by the Heartland Institute, long ago exposed as accepting cash from tobacco and oil interests to attack the science of tobacco cancer and climate change.

He will also appear at a separate event organised by Reverend Philip Foster, a long-term climate denier. In an appeal for donations for the climate circus Monckton claims: “At the Heartland and Philip Foster events in Paris, I shall reveal in detail the three serious errors that have led the models to over-predict warming so grossly.”

Foster completed an undergraduate degree in Natural Science at the University of Cambridge before teaching secondary and sixth-form schoolchildren in Nigeria. He trained as a Christian minister and served for 30 years before retiring.

He says in a YouTube video, which has been watched by 632 people since 13 April 2012: “I am, in one sense, no important person but, equally, I have taken time to study quite carefully the whole issue of global warming, climate change, and its connection to so-called sustainable development.”

Foster, from Hemingford Abbots in Cambridgeshire, claims that Thatcher, while British prime minister, began the global warming conspiracy in order to support her fight with the National Union of Mineworkers during the strike of 1984 and set the move to nuclear power in motion.

Foster has previously been involved with the Principia Scientific International, which has claimed that carbon dioxide “could actually cool the planet”. Bizarrely, it has also claimed that childhood vaccines are “one of the largest most evil lies in history”.
